My name is Oren Bell. I’m a fifth-year PhD student studying Computer Engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St Louis, advised by Chris Gill. My bachelor’s was received at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, also in Computer Engineering, with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics.

My research interests are in hardware acceleration and memory management middleware. You can find my latest academic work here.

July 2023 My paper titled “Hardware Acceleration with Zero-Copy Memory Management for Heterogeneous Computing” (aka the Hazcat paper) was accepted to RTCSA and I’ll be presenting it this August in Niigata, Japan

June 2023 The ROS2 Real-Time Working Group is organizing a workshop on real-time executors for ROSCon this October in New Orleans.
